t
he Real Shakespeare CompanyThe RSC Workshops will be focused on the chosen play in performance that weekend, along with one other, unless otherwise specified.
The WORKSHOPS
The group arrives in Stratford Upon Avon on the Friday evening. Nibbles and drinks are arranged at the infamous actor's pub, The Dirty Duck.
Saturday morning, an early start, the leaders pick the group up from their B&B at 9am.
- The Real Shakespeare Company Tour begins, you will hear the stories of Shakespeare's life, his daughter's affair, the death of his first love, we will reveal the source behind many of his characters and plays. We will visit the Shakespeare Birthplace trust and look through the archive of past performances.

- Lunch.
- Hard work starts at 1pm, we meet in the rehearsal space and start to work through the two chosen plays. (School workshops may differ)
- Topics included in the workshop:
- 60 Second Shakespeare
- Bringing the play and character to life
- Shakespeare's language, what it shows us
- The clues within the text
- How to create a character
- Recreating the text
- A mini performance, which ususally ends with laughter!
That evening we meet for a meal and visit the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Sunday we meet at 11am at the rehearsal space. We discuss the performance from the night before and compare it to the information we found at the archive and our own 60 second Shakespeare. Depending on availability, we try and have a one our Q&A with an actor from the previous night's performance or with the Director to round everything up! A Final farewell drink at the Dirty Duck with questions, answers and advice, before completion.
We generally like to have no more than ten people in one group, but school workshops can be arranged.
